I did some testing with the Virt. Pack for Skype today, when using the VMware View Client 4.7 with View Agent 7.3.2 I get the same error. Using VMware View Client 4.6 with View Agent 7.3.2 however does not generate this error so far. I'm still trying to get Skype functions to work with an HP T610 that's got HP ThinPro 5.2.1 with VMware View Client 4.7 install and I'm not making much progress. Skype locks up when I launch it, sometimes it eventually crashes and when it recovers I get the message that the Media Provider is in Fallback Mode and Skype launches just fine.

Re: vm(s) continuously crash on VMware Fusion Pro 10.1.1 (7520154) on macOS 10.13.3
Hi AkronX,
Could you attach any logs which would be helpful? Or the support bundle, if it's convenient.
To get the support bundle, select Help -> Collect Support Information on Fusion menu.
Thanks.
Can't uninstall or start VMware-Player-14.1.1-7528167 on Fedora
I'm feeling stuck. I've recently installed a new version of VMWare-Player (14.1.1) and it was working fine until now. When I want to start it, the whole OS just freezes, so I can't really debug it. I've tried uninstalling it using "vmware-installer --uninstall-component vmware-player", but it got stuck as well. I've found there is a process in "uninterrupted sleep" state:
17461 pts/1 Dl+ 0:00 /usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-app-control -- -l /usr/lib/vmware
Here is what's in a log file:

Thin Provisioning
Hi Experts,
Just wanted a view of the below scenario.
I have a 1 TB Storage LUN and I have created 10 VM's and provisioned each VM 100 GB Thin provisioned LUN's.
Can I provision another 2 VM's and allocate 100 GB Thin LUN to them.
What is the amount of over-provisioning can be done?
Thanks
Anjan
Re: Why doesn't UEM apply this registry?
Just for reference for anyone who needs to write to this registry, but there isn't an actual ADMX template for it, you can create your own following this simple guide Create Group Policy ADM and ADMX templates – 4sysops and load it into UEM. I had to do this for something very specific related to a plugin & it works.
Re: Shared folders not refreshing
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. We found a workaround for the issue the other day.
I have two VMs set-up. The development environments that had the issue are VS.NET 2005 and VS.NET 2017, one in each VM. In both cases, the dev environment was missing the file changes after I compiled. Typically, an outside project with build events, automatically refreshes in the main project. This stopped happening. I had to close out and reopen the main project for it to refresh properly.
Here's the workaround. Since, I work on a network and/or connect via VPN when out of the office, we set-up the shared drive on the host machine as a network drive. It is mapped to a drive letter. We also added a local user that will allow me to connect to that same drive when I am not connected to the network. Essentially, we do not use the Shared Folders functionality through the VMware.
Hope this information helps!
Upgrade to Workstation 14 Pro on Ubuntu 16.04 - vmware-hostd abort
I'm not able to get the workstation client application to connect to the local shared VMs.
I found that vmware-hostd is crashing, apparently somewhere in the PAM stack.

ESXi offline bundle error
Hallo
I have a problem to update a ESXi 6.0.0 with the offline bundle zip.
I downloaded the original offline bundle zip and copied via scp to the ESXi host.
If I use the CLI Command „ esxcli software profile update -d /tmp/bundle-name.zip -p esxi-6.0.0-U3 „ I get a error massage like this
Error extracting index.xml from /var/log/vmware/update-bundle.zip: [Error]No such file or directory: '/var/log/vmware/update-bundle.zip File is not a zip file
I testet other bundle zip with the same error massage.
Re: Fusion 10.0.1 & Windows 10 Fall Creators Update
I only just two weeks ago encountered this. Windows rammed an update down my throat. I kept telling it that I didn't want it, and canceled every time it came up, but WHILE I WAS SLEEPING it decided to install the update and reboot my virtual machine. After which I cannot save a file to my shared folders in this one VM.
I was not able to remove the windows 10 creator update, and I'm not sure that's the source of my problem. I think Microsoft figured out how to weave the broken code in to their latest update as well. I didn't get the option to "go back to a previous version of Windows 10" (see attachment).
Is this issue addressable by vmware? I told vmware to check for updates, and they came back with "pay for version 10".
Re: Accidently deleted one or to .vmdk files
In this case please close VMware Workstation, delete the .vmsd file, and then try to start the VM again.
If the VM powers on, and everything looks as expected, then don't forget to delete the existing snapshots, as they actually consume considerable disk space, and I assume that this was the reason why you deleted the files in first place!?
To delete the snapshots, shut down the VM, create a new snapshot, then open the Snapshot Manager, select the newly created snapshot, and hit the "Delete" button. Note that this will delete/consolidate all snapshots, and this may take considerable time due to their sizes.

Re: Why doesn't UEM apply this registry?
Thanks, JHBPJF, I would have suggested something similar in case the JunkMailImportLists setting would not have been part of the ADMX :-)
I like the ADM-to-ADMX route they suggest, BTW. Neither format is fantastic to write in, but ADM has a slight edge...
Re: VSAN SIzing
If you have 24 pCores x 5 servers you more than likely have (at least) x2 - x4 that amount of vCPUs.
So with 2:1 contention that is 240 vCPUs and with 4:1 that is 480 vCPUs
You have chosen a Fault Tolerance Method of RAID5 therefore the minimum number of hosts is 4.
You have chosen Host Failures to Tolerate = 1 therefore 4+1 = 5 hosts.

Welcome to the Community,
Please provide the exact command which you've tried to run.

Re: vsphere client and web client show different inventory objects
Hello, I have noticed a similar issue very long time back with vCSA 5.5 on one of older builds, for the permanent fix, I had to update the appliances to latest build released after removing vCSA from AD authentication.
Could you un-join the vCSA from AD, reboot appliance and join it back to AD again I am not certain it may resolve the issue.
Thanks
Re: ESXi offline bundle error
The exact command
esxcli software profile update -p ESXi-6.0.0_U3 -d /tmp/ESXi600-201706001.zip
Re: vCenter 6 and smart card authentication / not prompting for certificate (web client)
We have vCenter 6.5 with the same problem. The error "Make sure the smart card is inserted properly" appears in IE, Chrome, Firefox. The 6.0 documentation shows the command sso-config.[bat|sh] -set_tc_cert_authn. The 6.5 documentation does not show the "-set_tc_authn" switch. Is it no longer needed in for 6.5 implementations ?
Also what does the word "tenant" mean in the sso-config command? Some of us are wondering if this is referring to strictly a "VMware" object or to the Active Directory object we are using as an Identity Source.
Re: ESXi offline bundle error
Where did you find this profile name?
To find out which profiles are available in a .zip bundle, run:
esxcli software sources profile list -d /tmp/ESXi600-201706001.zip
In this case it should return 4 profiles, where one of them is "ESXi-6.0.0-20170604001-standard"
If so, the update command should be:
esxcli software profile update -d /tmp/ESXi600-201706001.zip -p ESXi-6.0.0-20170604001-standard
