Just to add to what vpradeep01 mentioned from that book:
This Log data is not flushed to capacity-tier on host reboot and thus the Log recovery time (and thus reboot time) correlates with the amount of Log data on the cache-device - my understanding of this is that this data also needs to be compared to the current state of the data as data will change on the rest of the cluster while the node is absent and thus if you have a high rate of change on the cluster then this will add to the time needed in SSD initialization (as will unsupported things such as increasing the default assigned high and low Log-capacity levels).

Ok, how about this for a slight refinement..
All the clusters can see the 50TB storage and their own storage.
I install a Veeam Backup VM on each cluster, to make use of FastSCP and use that to transfer the turned off VMs from the old datastores to new datastores on the new 50TB crate.
Then, the new cluster doesn't see any of the old storage hardware directly.

Re: Mixed 10Gb and 1Gb devices
The problem is that I cannot connect Dell with DMZ Switch because the latter is an HP with RJ45 and SFP ports (1gb max), while the Dell is 10gb SFP+ fixed.
Because of it, I would know if there was a software configuration or trick for having VMs that traffic each other on Dell (faster) and access to internet or to printer on HP Switch (slower).
If I was only one host is simple: VMs traffic is naturally faster because is inside virtual switch, while external is naturally on physical switch.
But with 3 hosts, I need to use Dell to have the same performance, because Office VMs are not only to a single host. That's why I 'd like to have VLAN 50 on both switch, but separated.
Good idea to create vDS for management, VLANs and NAS using 2 switch in HA (HP 1820-24G is capable?), but I don't know how to connect both to firewall (Sonicwall NSA3500).
Maybe using 2 Firewall (I have a spare part) in active/passive HA mode and connect one on first switch and one to second switch letting ESXi to decide the path that has Internet access?

If the common shared storage is over NFS, you're usually much safer than if it's block. The Veeam option could work as well, although even without sharing storage you could still use the Quick Migrate feature assuming management vmkernels are reachable.

It ensure that there is no pending replication of the ADAM database between the connection servers. I took a snapshot with the connection servers powered on once and has to rollback. It was a mess with replication issues and we spent hours on the phone with VMware uninstalling all of the connection servers and adding one back at a time (We had to do this multiple times).
You should do the same thing when upgrading PSC/VCSA if you have more than one.

We have a few known bug reported where we are have been Failed to export VM to OVF with Disk size of more than 25 GB; VMware Engineering is working on to resolve the issue and working on further investigation, I believe it will take little longer for the investigation process than to announce the fix in an upcoming release.
The workaround would be to use ESXi Host Client or OVF Tool there are no restrictions for VM Disk Size except in the Web Client somehow as per the current bug it restricts up to 25GB.
An OVF is a collection of items in a single folder. Most commonly this is a description file (.ovf) a manifest file (.mf), and virtual machine state files (*.vhd or *.vmdk).

An OVA is a single file. The OVA is the OVF folder contents all zipped into a single file. The purpose of the OVA is when you want to take an OVF and share it, or give it as a download. The OVA needs to be opened into the OVF before it can be consumed.

We have tried and did modify the ovf file ‘ovf:capacity’ value which allowed the import, but changed the disk size an order of magnitude (gb turned to tb).
The capacity section is measured in MB, not bytes. So please correct the values and try to deploy again.Follow these steps and let me know the results:
To increase the disk size in the OVF file to match the size of the vmdk in the OVF:
- 1. Navigate to the location of the OVF file
- 2. Open the OVF file using the text editor, and locate these tags:
<DiskSection> </DiskSection> - 3. Within this section, change the ovf:capacity="XXXXX" to the correct size of the vmdk(s)
Note: Size format is in MB. - 4. Ensure all the disks show correct size
- 5. Save and close the file
- 6. Deploy the OVF again
Here are a few things you would like to validate:
1. Test this function in another browser.
2. Downloaded the OVF to confirm the copy you have is not corrupted.
3. Does this issue happen to all EXSi 6.5 hosts, or just some?
4. Does any other OVF deployment work on the host?
5. Created a new VM and created a test OVF and attempted to deploy that onto the hosts?
6. Do all these hosts on the same build of 6.5?

how can we dynamically use the value entered in one property in blueprint to decide whether to show another property or not? I want to do it without using the xaas blueprint.
Hi,
I have a requirement to ask the user if they want to go with previously configured things or want to create a new one. I want to show one boolean property to user to choose the option and if the value is no, I want to show another propery to enter the inputs for new configuration.
I saw this is done in the initial vsphere configuration xaas blueprint. Can this be done in the blueprints other than xaas blueprints?

Then assemble the VM manually by creating a new VM and adding existing vmdks.

To dynamically change what gets presented as far as different fields go, that requires XaaS. If all you want is for the answer to a boolean to influence values which are presented in future fields, that doesn't require XaaS and can be done strictly with custom properties connected to vRO actions.

I have a blueprint which provisions the VM.
I want to provide a UI to the user to select some 'X' propery and then dynamically decide the visibilty of other properties based on the condition which checks for the value of the 'X' property.
then use the properties of the currently provisioned VM and these properties to perform some other action outside the vrealize console like backup the vm.
Interactive UI is possible through XAAS blueprints and VCACVm properties are visible when we use Event Broker. How can we use both of them together.
